Old Gold with Alastair Campbell

Alastair Campbell is hugely generous with his advice…

One of our favourite guests on the Humourology podcast over the years has been Alastair Campbell, Alastair never fails to deliver sound advice wrapped up in an intelligent argument with a large side order of funny. Last time we spoke he was launching his latest book “But What Can I Do?” which has now just come out in paperback. We heartily recommend you get yourself a copy here if you haven’t already.

We’ve really enjoyed going through some old Humourology episodes, and none more so than this classic one with Alastair back in May last year. We discussed, amongst other topics, how perseverance and staying resilient to change can be the most valuable things in leadership, how to cope with confidence and of course his greatest passion, Burnley Football Club (or was it politics? You’ll have to listen to find out)

Alastair is hugely generous with his advice, with such a long career, much of it at the cutting edge of political change and at the heart of government, he has seen it all and knows what can make or break careers, what makes the wheels of power turn and how to translate his experiences into advice we can all benefit from. We may not be running a country or heading a government but running a business, succeeding in your chosen career and also of course, your life, takes some very similar skill sets. Read some of his top tips here.

As we wrote a few weeks ago, we’re eagerly awaiting the upcoming season of The Humourology Podcast, let’s carry some of these nuggets of wisdom with us, knowing that laughter and a well-crafted punchline have the power to transform our lives and bring us closer together.

Subscribe to make sure you stay tuned for the laughter, the wisdom, and the unexpected punchlines that await in the next season. We hope you join us for yet another season of The Humourology Podcast.

Which brings us to this clip to brighten up your day.

As the great Charles Dickens once said,

“There is nothing in the world as irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humour.”

See you next Tuesday.
