Boxing Day Bliss: Snoozing, Boozing or Cruising

Share Article

Boxing Day is all about enjoying yourself, however you choose to do it. It’s about relaxation, laughter, and good vibes.

Ah, Boxing Day, the day when the sofa becomes your best friend, and the only exercise you plan involves reaching for the remote control. It’s a day when the world seems to slow down, and the primary goal is to recover from the festive feast of the day before.

While most people are snug as a bug in a rug on their couch, I have a confession to make. While many will be enjoying the art of snoozing, I’ll be trading my Christmas jumper for running shoes. That’s right, I’m one of those ‘crazy’ folks who sign up for the Boxing Day run with my local running club. They say it’s a great way to burn off some of those Christmas calories, but between you and me, I suspect it’s just an excuse to wear Santa hats while jogging.

After my morning run, I’ll be switching gears and heading to support my local football team, AFC Wimbledon. Yes, I’ll be swapping my running shoes for a foam finger and a stadium seat. It’s all part of the Boxing Day experience, cheering for your favourite team and desperately hoping they’ll win and keep the dream alive.

But whether you’re planning on being a couch potato or embarking on some post-Christmas exercise adventures like me, remember this: Boxing Day is all about enjoying yourself, however you choose to do it. It’s about relaxation, laughter, and good vibes.

So, here’s to you, dear reader, and to everyone out there. Whether you’re snoozing on the sofa or cheering on your team in a stadium, we hope your Boxing Day is filled with joy, laughter, and a few classic Christmas leftovers.

As they say, “however you celebrate,” we wish you a fabulous post-Christmas cracker! And if you’ve got a Christmas joke or two up your sleeve, don’t be shy – share the laughter, because that’s what the season is all about.
Speaking of Christmas jokes, we had music-based cracker jokes this year:

Who is Rudolph’s favourite pop star? Beyon-sleigh!

What does Miley Cyrus have at Christmas? A twerky.

Who is Santa’s favourite singer? Elf-is Presley.

Don’t blame me; blame Santa!

Happy Boxing Day, my friends, and may your festive spirit linger on!

See you next Tuesday.
